What is Metamask?

Metamask is a very good 3rd party application for Myetherwallet wallet that helps to secure your account, avoiding cases where the computer is hit by a keylogger that saves the Private Key code when logging into the wallet.

Any transfer of ETH, ERC20 Token related to myetherwallet wallet must have confirmation from yourself via Metamask to be executed. Thereby helping to maximize protection for your account. It allows you to access the distributed web in your own browser. In addition, Metamask also allows you to run other applications such as Ethereum dApps right in the browser without you having to start the entire Ethereum node leading to the browser becoming heavy and slow.

MetaMask includes an extremely secure cryptographic identifier, provides users with an interface to manage your personal information on different websites and accepts blockchain transactions throughout the system. If you have ever used Myetherwallet, MetaMask also has such a mechanism, through private keys you can connect to the Ethereum blockchain and store Rthereum, the token belonging to Ethereum in the most secure way.

How to install Metamask

Login to the link: https://metamask.io

You choose: Download now

Here you can choose the type of browser that you often use. Then select Install Metamask……

Here I use Google Chrome so I choose ‘Add to Chrome’

Then select Get Started to start installing MetaMask.

After the installation is complete, a table will appear for you to choose. Sign in with the 12 special characters you may have had before or create a new Metamask wallet account.

Create a Metamask Wallet

Click on Create a Wallet to create a wallet. Then create a password to secure Metamask:

It is recommended to create an account with more than 8 characters including uppercase, lowercase letters, numbers and special characters.

After setting the password. The interface will show you a 12-character picture for confirmation and to reactivate your account once lost.

Note: These 12 words are very important, you should write them down or save them.

Once you confirm the account creation, they will ask you to use the 12 characters you just saved to log in.

When confirming 12 words have been saved you. You create a Metamask account and we can trade.

After adding, you need to put the Metamask icon on the browser’s utility bar. Then you select the pin icon to pin on the utility bar.

So you have successfully installed and created a metamask account.

Every time you close the browser, the metamask automatically logs out. This means that you need to re-login the metamask wallet every time you need to use it.

To log in to the metamask wallet, you just need to enter the correct password and click Log In.

You can name your wallet in the Account place to make it easy to remember. then click Create to complete the wallet.

If you already have a Myetherwallet wallet you can insert it into your Metamask wallet by the following way.

You can insert a Myetherwallet wallet in 2 ways: Private Key or Json File then press Import. In my opinion you should use Json File.

How to add Tokens to MetaMask . wallet

You click on the fox icon on the toolbar of Google Chrome to appear your MetaMask account.

You click on the icon 3 dashes (Menu) and select and Add token. Next go to Custom Token. add the contract address in the Token Address box, it will automatically display the Token Symbol and Decimals of Precision. Click Next And Add Quit !

How to send and receive Tokens on MetaMask

Click on the icon on Google Chrome and you’re done. Click on the 3 dots as shown below.

You Click on Expand View to. Here you can also Add tokens to your wallet.

How to get Tokens with MetaMask

You select Deposit and View Account, then a wallet address table and a QR code table will appear so you can copy your wallet address.

How to send Tokens using MetaMask

You select Send and then paste the address you want to send. Type the number of tokens you want to send and select Next. To choose to trade faster you can increase your trading fee at Advanced Options.

You select the Setting at Currency Conversion, you choose the unit you want to convert and you’re done.

At Settings you can also switch your language to Vietnamese at Current Language for convenience.

Instructions for using the Swap feature on Metamask

Open Meta Mask Wallet, you will see “SWAP” button next to ‘Buy’ and ‘Send’

Click “SWAP”

For example, you want to Swap ETH (swap from) to YFI (swap to)

Here I give an example I will swap 1 ETH to YFI.

Select Get quotes.

Here you can adjust the network fee as you wish.

Click “6 quotes available” to get the best prices that MetaMask will search for you.

MetaMask will request prices from Uniswap, AirSwap, 0x API, 1inch.exchange, Paraswap, Totle and other exchanges or DEX aggregators.

As a result, MetaMask will list a series of exchange rates for users to refer to and choose from. After you have selected your price, click “Select” and press “SWAP” to prepare to complete the ETH swap to receive YFI.

Swap is quite simple on MetaMask because the steps are similar to Uniswap. Instead of going to DEX applications, connecting Metamask wallet to Swap, now, users can swap right on the utility without having to access any other DEX application.

Regarding fees, it is currently impossible to confirm which fee is cheaper (depending on ETH’s network situation), but it can be said that, in terms of convenience and speed, MetaMask Swaps is doing this well.
